But when you're Nicole Scherzinger you take it a step further. The X Factor judge has spent a whopping £750,000 on private jets to follow Lewis Hamilton around the globe after setbacks in their relationship.
The Formula 1 racer isn't trying to speed away from his girlfriend, though. It's just that he has a very hectic schedule, and has to globetrot regularly to get to all of his Grand Prix meets.
A source told The Sun that Nicole's footing most of the bill, too: "Lewis will sort some flights out for her, but she's booking some herself and they're eye-wateringly expensive."
The couple first got together in 2007, but split for a bit in 2010, then 2011 again, so they could focus on their careers. Since they got back together, though, he's been spotted partying with other women,, and that's probably why Nicole's rushing about and making the extra effort.
Gary Barlow "determined" to perform at closing ceremony
In other X Factor-related news, Gary Barlow is said to be set on performing at the Olympic closing ceremony this weekend, despite him and his wife Dawn losing their newborn baby, Poppy, last Saturday.
A source told The Sun: "Gary is going through a terrible time. The last week has been awful - as everyone can understand."
"The band have been there for him and totally understand if he doesn't do the gig, Take That are on the running order and the organisers are prepared for all eventualities, but they all know Gary will be determined to perform."
