Rihanna slams journalist for ‘tacky interview’ about Chris Brown

Rihanna is considered by most to be open about pretty much anything, she tweets constantly and jokes about having sex with Katy Perry. But she lashed out in a recent interview saying she didn’t want to talk about ‘messy sh*t’ when asked about Chris Brown.
The singer hit the headlines in 2009 when she was badly beaten by her then-boyfriend Chris Brown after they fought in his car following a pre-Grammys party.
When questioned by the interviewer for the July issue of Esquire magazine on her motivation for recent collaborations with her ex, the "We Found Love" singer lashed out, saying the interview was “tacky” and she didn’t want to talk about ‘messy sh*t.’

Rihanna recently worked with singer Chris Brown on two mixes, including his guest appearance on her single Birthday Cake, and got angry when the interviewer told her: "Some people felt it sent the wrong message."
When the 24-year-old questioned the statement, the reporter replied: "You'd gone back to someone who put you in the hospital."
Rihanna then explained people who assumed she was back with him in a romantic sense 'ended up looking stupid'. She said: "OK. In a completely professional environment. And on a complete professional note. I mean, if I went back to him [as a girlfriend], then that's a whole different discussion.

"And if I ever do, then that's something that y'all have to talk to me about when—if—that ever happens. Until then, look at it for what it is. I think a lot of people jumped to an assumption that was incorrect and they ended up looking stupid."
The reporter probed further by saying her personal and private life "are intertwined" and brought up the fact her first song released after the beating incident was Love the Way You Lie, "about domestic violence."

This really got Rihanna’s back up and she said: "I'm going to look back on my life and say that I enjoyed it—and I lived it for me - and God. This is turning into a tacky interview. What do you really want to talk about? I'm not here to [talk] about messy sh*t."
It’s not the first time Rihanna has felt she needed to explain herself about collaborating with Chris Brown. When she first attracted criticism for it, Rihanna explained to Ryan Seacrest in March this year she had made the decision because he was the "hottest R&B artist out right now".
"I reached out to him about doing ‘Birthday Cake’ because that’s the only person that really — it made sense to do the record. Just as a musician, despite everything else, that was going to be the person,” she said. “You know I thought about rappers, and I’ve done that so many times, and the hottest R&B artist out right now is Chris Brown.
