A defiant-looking Katie Holmes is sending out a message – she’s getting on with her life in the aftermath of the announcement that she’s to divorce husband Tom Cruise.
The 33-year-old actress has been out in New York fulfilling her commitments to film a segment for Project Runway: All Stars. Despite the drama in her personal life a source had told People.com that Katie was “great” during filming, adding, “She was engaged, articulate and wonderful.”
And to prove that her relationship really is totally ovah Katie has also been seen without her wedding ring on. A move that we’re sure husband of five years Tom Cruise will be “deeply saddened” by.

On Friday 29 June news broke that Kaite had officially filed for divorce from Tom. A statement from her attorney read, "This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family. Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest.”
Soon after the initial announcement it was being reported that Katie was looking for sole custody of the couple’s six-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise.
Tom was quick to follow the statement from Katie’s people with his own. Making it very clear that the decision to divorce was Katie’s the announcement said, “Kate has filed for divorce. Tom is deeply saddened and is concentrating on his three children.”
